goya's goat

first round of patreon stuff… done.  $1.oo patrons get early access to the project as the work happens, $5.oo patrons get that + full-size files of the final imagery (patreon here).  full project with process work and photos up on behance (here).

below there’s the final image, a work in progress, photo from the prado trips, and a link to the video talking about the story behind the image.

the goya drawing is done.  scanned.  and being colored, right now.

i’m thinking about a monthly delivery schedule for the patreon project.  i’m also thinking about a 1.5-2 month delivery schedule… i’ll be able to deliver higher quality content if i allow that amount of time between pieces.  i have several commitments to juggle while being abroad and i’d like to maintain high quality art output. the first round of content is still good for a halloween delivery, though.

again, here’s some links to the patreon project and my mailing list - patreon / mailing list

‘he who receiveth me…’

j.kobb has been aching for release for a while, now.  the black and white tonal study is complete… has been for a while, actually… for over a year.  the color is almost done, too.  don't worry, though.  it won't take another year.  he's coming soon.

WIP it güd...

I normally have a lot of projects going on at once.  And, I usually post updates to those projects all over the place.  While this blog will serve to host the major updates to what I'm doing, you can find more work-in-progress shots on my Behance and Instagram pages.  On top of those accounts, I've got several other web-presences listed at the bottom of my site.

Here's a current WIP (clickthrough to Behance):

Evil, evil, eeeeevil drawings...

I've got this piece from last year that I started and didn't finish.  I've recently picked it back up and am making an effort to get it done.  It's pretty daunting because it's fairly larger than how I normally work.  Normally, I work on a piece of paper that is roughly 5.5" • 8".  Teeny details fill up most of that space.  It takes a while, but, I love it.  This one, is 9" • 12"!  And, it's still got all the teeeeeeny details!  I'm pretty stoked about how it could/will turn out.  I'm also really eager to get it scanned in and start coloring it digitally.  One of my goals is to work huge... like, wall-sized huge at the same detail-level I use, now.  This is one step towards that goal.
