goya's goat

first round of patreon stuff… done.  $1.oo patrons get early access to the project as the work happens, $5.oo patrons get that + full-size files of the final imagery (patreon here).  full project with process work and photos up on behance (here).

below there’s the final image, a work in progress, photo from the prado trips, and a link to the video talking about the story behind the image.

the goya drawing is done.  scanned.  and being colored, right now.

i’m thinking about a monthly delivery schedule for the patreon project.  i’m also thinking about a 1.5-2 month delivery schedule… i’ll be able to deliver higher quality content if i allow that amount of time between pieces.  i have several commitments to juggle while being abroad and i’d like to maintain high quality art output. the first round of content is still good for a halloween delivery, though.

again, here’s some links to the patreon project and my mailing list - patreon / mailing list

new stuff in store

i’ve been pretty busy uploading some new stuff into my store.  that includes the original drawing i did for my version of pete mohrbacher’s zaqiel that he commissioned from me for his angelarium project.  see my previous blog post for links to details, process stuffs, and links to get a hold of a print of zaqiel!

most of the new art is on sale with shipping to the u.s. included (lies, lies, lies | tukroun•konman | j.kobb • the ascender, and more).  i’ve got a pretty big move coming up and would like sell the art rather than transport it.

i’ll speak more about the move in the future.  i’m pretty excited and am hoping that it opens up some interesting opportunities for making engaging images.

stay tuned!

tukroun•konman

tukroun•konman is one of the only personal pieces i got to create during 2017.  it was a busy year as i was working full-time in a studio gig.  even though i didn’t do much personal creation in 2017, this piece did get accepted into spectrum 25 - which will be published later this year!

the original artwork is also up in my store - here.  and, if you’re into that sort of thing, here’s a few links to some process work for the drawing and painting portions - behance / twitter / artstation / instagram

‘he who receiveth me…’

j.kobb has been aching for release for a while, now.  the black and white tonal study is complete… has been for a while, actually… for over a year.  the color is almost done, too.  don't worry, though.  it won't take another year.  he's coming soon.

The purveyor of denial, Railroad-Head Rex

"Bound to purvey the loathsome Edict of Denial | The Fear and Shame induced, to it’s face brought a smile"

On June 3rd, at 10.00AM Eastern Time (GMT -5.oo), my piece "Railroad-Head Rex" will go up for sale on EveryDayOriginal.com.  Thanks to illustrator & art director Marc Scheff for bringing me on board with EDO.  There's lots of great art from some great talent, there, of which I'm happy to be a part.

"Behold!  At what guilt hath created, may beholders gasp and ponder."
