at the beginning of march i went to bilbao, spain (in euskadi). it’s in the north of spain whose landscapes are very green… very different from the rest of the mostly arid (?), colorado-/arizona-esque landscapes of the rest of the country. the north is much more like what i’m used to in the pacific northwest of the united states. here’s some photos from the trip.
i was there (in bilbao and gernika) to take a break from madrid and do some research on the upcoming 3rd part of my patreon project (link) which will be based on picasso’s painting, guernica. i’ll be looking at picasso’s painting and joseph campbell’s interpretation of it. we’ll then look at the bull in the painting, its significance, and bulls as they show up throughout myth around the world.
