i moved to madrid, spain in august to pursue a long-standing passion project - to explore our dark, collective psychological past.

joseph campbell (author of the hero with a thousand faces, and, the guy george lucas credits with helping to complete the original star wars trilogy) wrote that our lives are built upon the horrific and macabre tales our ancestors told in caves, around campfires, and within castles.  europe provides the backdrop for many of those tales. and, now that i’m here i want to travel to those same settings to see the landscapes, hear the stories, and come back to madrid to create imagery reminding us our world-wide psychological heritage.

i’m just getting this thing started and will be developing the project as it continues.  the first drawing in the series is done (you can see a sneak-peak of it and the original sketches, below) with painting underway.  here’s a link the patreon project page - link.  any and all support is appreaciated.  as i mentioned, this is an idea i’ve had for quite sometime - i’m excited to get this thing going and see where it goes \m/
